9 more killed, 50 wounded, Obama's effigy burned in Afghan protests over Koran burnings

KABUL (Reuters) - Nine more people were killed on Friday in protests in Afghanistan over the burning of copies of the Koran at a NATO base, officials said.

Seven people were killed and 50 wounded in the western province of Herat, while two more were killed in Khost in the east. Three people were killed earlier during protests.
